Lithographs

A lithograph is a print made by drawing onto a stone, like limestone. The stone is prepped by grinding the surface with carborundum to make it very smooth. The image is then draw onto the stone with a grease pencil, and etched.

A print is created based on the concept of oil and water do not mix.

It is quite a fiddly process, and requires a lots of passes with the inked up roller to get a strong image. Can’t say I’m a fan, but I do like learning new techniques.
